History

As of 3061, the unit was stationed on Marawi alongside the Thirtieth PGC. During the Dominion War, the 17th Provisional Garrison Cluster and the 30th Provisional Garrison Cluster destroyed the DCMS' 3rd Ghost Regiment.[1]

During the Jihad the Seventeenth (along with the rest of Theta Galaxy) was thrust into front-line combat. Trained predominantly in defensive tactics, the Seventeenth gave a poor showing on Moore and Pike IV. Word of Blake troops on those worlds were able to inflict serious losses on the Seventeenth.[2] In 3079 the Seventeenth was garrisoning the former Blakist world of Yorii.[3]

Officers

As of 3061 the Commanding Officer was Star Colonel Marisa Hakimi.[4]

Tactics

The command uses also the smash & grab tactic. The cluster know their terrain well and use the lighter units to lead the enemy in to an ambush. The enemy can approach to the target without fight and at the right moment the rest of the unit assaulted from all sides simultaneously.[4]

Composition

3061

3079
