History
The Forty-Fourth Brigade was a part of the Star League Defense Force Regular Army. Formed as a part of the 15th Division during the creation of the SLDF, the 44th Brigade was commanded by Lieutenant General Simone di Martino and was a part of V Corps during Operation UNION HOLD, the five-year campaign to conquer the Outworlds Alliance. The 44th Brigade served as a part of the Outworlds Alliance Task Force from the start of the operation in 2581 until peace was declared with the Treaty of Cerberus in 2585.[1]
The 44th was stationed on Senorbi when the invasion of the Alliance began and was responsible for conquering Schirmeck in August 2581, a task managed in less than an hour.[2] The 44th was then deployed forward to Medron in 2582 and then Ki Zoban in 2583.[1] For the remainder of the war against the Outworlds Alliance the 44th was involved in the protracted struggle for the planet Lushann.[1][3]
