Overview
The Star League Defense Forces 5th Army was assigned to operations within the Capellan Confederation Military Region.[1]
History
The 5th Army was the only standard pattern army stationed within the Capellan Confederation, with the main Army Headquarters located on Epsilon Eridani and responsibility for those worlds closest to Terra. When the Periphery Uprising erupted, the other two regional armies within the Capellan Confederation, the 6th and 7th Armies, were both deployed forward into the Periphery. That left the 5th with responsibility for the entire of the Confederation; to augment the 5th the SLDF High Command transferred in 29 assorted regiments of troops from the 1st Army.[2]

In 2765 the Commanding Officer of the 5th Army was General Bram Merga.[2]
