History

The Sixth Donegal Guards were stationed on Gram in 2765.[1]

Clan Invasion Era

The Sixth had spent many of their Clan Invasion years stationed on the Free Worlds League's borders and at times conducting raids into League.

On 5 January 3059 the relatively inexperienced Sixth relieved the Eridani Light Horse of their garrison duty on the worlds Kikuyu and Mogyorod.[2] The Sixth was given a warning prior to ELH brigades leaving for Task Force Serpent that if anything should happen to their families and dependents, they would return for revenge. Strong bonds grew between the Guards and the families of the Eridani Light Horse as the years of garrison duty past. When the SLDF re-assigned entire ELH brigade base to Dieron in 3062, the Guards were sadden by their departure.

The Guard's aide Colonel Gertrude Mostue, a Rasalhague-born Lyran officer with ties to the Democracy Now political faction, was investigated by LIC for possible terrorist activities. However, Lieutnant-General Urbanick prevented her transfer to another unit. [3]

In an effort to shore up the White Hawks defensive abilities, Lt. General Urbanick began an extensive training programme with the mercenary unit Storm's Metal Thunder. This was mutually beneficial to both units and saw a good relationship build with the mercenary outfit.[citation needed]

Officers

From 3025 to 3054 the unit was commanded by Marshal Seamus Kinnell.[4][5]

The commanding officer was Leutnant-General Paul Urbanick, who took command in unit in 3058.[3]

Tactics

The Sixth employs a broad spectrum of tactics, but excel defensively since their intensive training. The unit has learned to be break down into smaller formations in order to disrupt and isolate elements of the enemy force. [6]
