Chastity Mulvaney was a member of the Northwind Highlanders, serving as the executive officer of MacLeod's Regiment in 3057.[1]

History[edit]

Chastity Mulvaney joined MacLeod's Regiment, reaching the rank of Major by 3057, the second in command of the unit's XO, Colonel William MacLeod. The arrival of the Death Commando Loren Jaffray, in what he said was a personal visit to his family's ancestral world, made her suspicious from him even before seeing him.[2] When MacLeod decided to rebel against the Federated Commonwealth, Mulvaney openly opposed him, and part of the regiment joined her and the Suns' forces, which made the Battle of Northwind (3057) a de facto civil war.[3] Chastity hated to have to fight other highlanders, and distrusted the Consul Guards' commander, Colonel Drew Catelli, but endured it. His presence in the Davion side gave them a great insight into MacLeod's way of thinking and the terrain, which made her unvaluable to the Davionists. After a Davion headhunting attach, she began worrying about MacLeod and, surprisingly, also about Jaffray. When she faced him, in the battle of Tilman River, wasn't able to kill him. Both fell into the river, becaming entangled, and had to cooperate to survive. Later, both separated without fighting more.[4]

At the beginning of October, when the retired Highlander Plunckett gave Chastity a message from Jaffray, telling her than the davionists intended to make blow part of Tara to kill the arriving Stirling's Fusiliers, she and all her highlanders defected from the Davion camp. The 2 October, when MacLeod's regiment attacked the Davion positions on Tara, she faced a downed Jaffray, but refused to kill him, leaving him get into her cockpit. When the Highlanders surrounded Catelli's group into a warehouse filled with explosives. After Drew refused to surrender, she fired into the warehouse, creating a explosion which killed Catelli and all his Guards' survivors. Then, Jaffray congratulated her. After the battle had ended, she welcomed Jaffray into the Highlanders, and sooan after, both began a romantic relationship.[5]

Clan Invasion Era[edit]

Mulvaney's battalion was contracted by the Draconis Combine to garrison the Periphery planet of Wayside V, after Stirling's Fusiliers had take it, but the Battle of Wayside (3058) didn't go as expected: as soon as her JumpShip arrived on system, the 6 August, she realized the Fusiliers had found heavier resistance than expected. She was relieved to receive a communication from Jaffray. She ordered her battalion to disembark, charging against the Tau Galaxy (Clan Smoke Jaguar) two days later, when they were to crush the Fusiliers. That saved them and won time to arrive for the Clan Nova Cat forces than Jaffray had draw there.[6]

Jaffray was wounded in the battle, but survived. She was on the hospital on Northwind when he awakened, informing him about his promotion to Colonel.[7]

Dark Age Era[edit]

Chastity survived the [[Word of Blake Jihad, and by 3085, she would command the IX Hastati Sentinels in the name of the newly formed Republic of the Sphere.[8]

BattleMech[edit]

Mulvaney's 'Mech was a Marauder II.[9]
