Plot summary

Newly formed from the remnants of the decimated Peregrine's Hussars and Sorensen's Strikers mercenary commands, the Chaos Irregulars have arrived on Outreach hiring hall and hope to secure a contract. To improve their default "Green" rating with the MRBC because of being a new unit, they also go through costly evaluation procedure.

The original units from which the Irregulars formed were very different in outlook, combat style and leadership style and have some difficulties integrating into a single unit under joint command. Captains Ariel Peregrine and "Jake" Jacoam also have different ideas about how and where to find possible employers.

On 18 November 3066 the evaluation exercise takes place, with the Broadsword Legion acting as opposing force. The evaluation goes well, and the integration of the Irregulars' two component units is also improving. Shortly afterwards, the Irregulars have not one, but three job offers on the table.
