Description[edit]

The Issedone is Clan Snow Raven's first OmniFighter, and may be the first OmniFighter ever created. Using the Spad aerospace fighter as a baseline allowed the Raven techs to create the fighter very quickly. It was a success as a technology demonstrator, but wasn't as effective as the Issus and Chaeroneas that were in service at the time. Despite its shortcomings, it served well for a century before being replaced by more capable designs.

After they relocated to the Inner Sphere, Clan Sea Fox resumed production of the Issedone for sale to Periphery nations and other smaller markets.

Weapons and Equipment[edit]

The Issedone can carry nine tons of pod-mounted equipment. The Prime configuration has a single large pulse laser mounted in the nose coaxially with a single ER medium laser. Two additional pod-mounted heat sinks bring the total up to 12. Though a fairly effective craft, a reckless pilot can quickly take enough damage to penetrate the fighter's seven and a half tons of armor.[3]

Alternate Configurations[edit]

  • Alternate Configuration A
The A configuration has a mix of long range and short range weaponry mounted in the vehicle's nose. Its main firepower comes from an ER large laser, backed up by an LRM-10 with a single ton of ammunition, protected by CASE. Rounding out the A's arsenal is a single ER small laser. A single additional pod-mounted heat sink brings the total number of heat sinks to 11. BV (2.0) = 1,084[3]
  • Alternate Configuration B
Primarily a flying missile boat, the B's firepower is provided by an LRM-10 in each wing. The launchers have two tons of ammunition for 24 volleys of fire, with the ammo bins protected by CASE. The aircraft has only two ER medium lasers to back up the launchers: one mounted in the nose and one mounted in the rear. BV (2.0) = 1,095[3]
  • Alternate Configuration C
Apparently introduced by Clan Sea Fox, this configuration seems to be intended for support roles. The nose and each wing carry Modular Armor, providing more protection. The nose also carries an ER small laser and light TAG system, while each wing carries a pair of micro pulse lasers. For electronic warfare support the Issedone C carries an ECM suite and two rear-firing chaff pods sourced from Inner Sphere vendors. BV (2.0) = 704[3]
  • Alternate Configuration D
Another Sea Fox creation, this configuration uses a ProtoMech AC/8 with a ton of ammunition as its main weapon. This is supported by four ER small lasers in the nose, while another ER small laser covers the fighter's rear arc. BV (2.0) = 753[3]

Notes[edit]

  • The Issedone was first released in Turning Points: Tokasha, which did not have any significant information on its operational history or its permanent image.
