His family suffered great hardship in the early years of the Republic however, due to their Draconis Combine heritage and living of a former Lyran Commonwealth world. Moriyama was known to have piloted a Crimson Hawk BattleMech, serial number SF392-90D, named "Revenant". Sold to the Republic by Clan Sea Fox in 3102, when fresh from the factory, were it later served in defensive engagements during the Capellan Crusades. Despite being damaged a number of times, technicians were able to keep the 'Mech fully operation.[1]
