Description
Designed in secret by a renegade faction within ComStar during mid-32nd Century, the Kheper is frontline Medium Class BattleMech design intended staple unit within secretly resurrected 1st Division of the Com Guard.
The design was put to the test during the conflict between RAF and Com Guards on Epsilon Eridani. In aftermath of the Com Guard's destruction, the Kheper's simple construction and easy to maintain quality meet with needs of rebuilding RAF. After the conflict, Kheper's New Earth based manufacture would be seized by Republican forces and its production output would pour into the ranks of the Republic of the Sphere. The Kheper speed and virtual being an unknown quantity to the Inner Sphere at large at the time, would make choice unit for Republic's raids outside of the Fortress Republic's Walls.[3][4]
Armament and Equipment
Configured as generalist, the Kheper was constructed with range of commonly acquired parts. The 'Mech powered by a 275-rated Core Tek Extra-Light Fusion Engine. Its vitals and hardy Endo-Steel structure is protected by 9 tons of Wall Type 8 Light Ferro-Fibrous armor.
The 'Mech's arsenal consists of a wide range of different types of weaponry. Its long range firepower and main weapon gun essentially is its M-7 Gauss Rifle and 7-tubed Holly Multi-Missile Launcher which are each mounted the Mech's opposing arms. CASE II is placed in right arm and left torso minimized any chance of a potential weapon/ammo detonation crippling the 'Mech. For the intermediate and short ranges, the Kheper has a ER Medium, X-Pulse Medium Laser, and Small VSP Laser in torsos and in the head.[5][6]

As of this writing, the Master Unit List does not list the Kheper.
Not mentioned in profile of the Kheper is its resemblance to Heavy OmniMechs of the Word of Blake Celestial series. The Kheper appearance is not unlike the Grigori and Deva designs. However, there no mention of it borrowing from what would be considered to be a taboo designs.
