An LB-X Autocannon is a derivative of the standard autocannon design used for centuries by every military in the Inner Sphere. The LB-X technology allows a soldier to shoot either traditional solid rounds or a cluster round that is essentially a giant shotgun shell. These cluster rounds spread their damage across the target, increasing the possibility of damaging a vital system. They're particularly effective against VTOLs and AeroSpace Fighters.

Just like their forebears, LB-X autocannon come in four types that are broadly based on the damage they inflict:

LB-X autocannons cannot be combined with the special munitions developed by the AFFS or Ultra, Rotary, or Light Autocannons.
