History[edit]

Amaris Civil War[edit]

In 2772, during the initial wave of Operation CHIEFTAIN, the Star League Defense Force entered New Canton, a military nexus along the Terran HegemonyCapellan Confederation frontier. A fifty-ship attack fleet quickly eliminated the Amaris Empire task force of twenty-four WarShips and additional transports. The Seventh Army's LIII Corps then landed on-planet, splitting its focus between securing the Amaris supply depots garrisoned by two overstrength Patriot battalions, and a largely conventional campaign to neutralize the remaining forces consisting of a regiment of Amaris Regulars and another two Patriot battalions based within the world's lone Castle Brian. The defenders were able to destroy large stockpiles of the supplies before the SLDF could capture them, though the great majority of their WMD were secured or destroyed safely.[2]
