Lo Yen is a Solaris VII MechWarrior that has always fought on Solaris league BBL.

History[edit]

Lo Yen has fought for twenty years in the BBL and only three active fighters have been there longer than him. He fought his first three years with the Grey Cobras Stables. After that, he joined the newly formed Red Jians Stables and has fought for them since then. He has been six times Class Two champion, and also four times individual champion.

During the Word of Blake invasion, Yen was one of the SHDL's best scouts.

After the Jihad, he went back to the Arenas. Now approaching sixty, Lo Yen is the Stables captain though he is considering retirement sometime in the next couple of years, to become the Stables’ full-time instructor.[1]

In 3086 he again participated in the BBL Championship. Completing an excellent championship despite his age, he was ranked second and tied to Tyler Boyer and having a mere point behind Carlos Valdez and Jean Cuvier[2].

After the ninth week's results, Valdez and Cuvier were tied for first, with Tyler Boyer and a surging Lo Yen a point behind.[3].

After week twelve, the Class Two Division standings had Carlos Valdez in the top slot with 25 points, with Tyler Boyer tied with Valdez in points, but with Valdez's timing points total being superior. Lo Yen was third, while Jean Cuvier had dropped to fourth.[4]

He was paired against division leader Carlos Valdez for his thirteenth-week match. Lo Yen established the tone from the start, getting in the first hits with his Stinger, while avoiding Valdez's return fire from his Panther. It took seventeen minutes for Yen to wear away the Panther's heavier armor and concentrate the damage on Valdez's right arm and torso. Valdez missed almost every time, unable to predict the canny Yen's next action. When a penetrating shot damaged Valdez's PPC and next his SRM-4 launcher, Valdez signaled the officials he had enough.[5]

Two weeks to end the year, the Class Two Division standings had Lo Yen as the leader with 48 points, followed by Tyler Boyer and Mansai Yamazaki as second each with 40 points. Boyer was second, based on timing points (17 points compared to Yamazaki's 14.9).
