Description

Developed by Federated Barrett under a Federated Commonwealth Intelligence Command grant, the Magshot Gauss Rifle was introduced as the main armament of the Infiltrator Mk. II battle armor. A miniature version of vehicle-mounted Gauss Rifles, it accelerates a small projectile to speeds in excess of 6000km/h by use of a magnetic accelerator. Devastating to infantry, it is also capable of inflicting respectable damage against 'Mechs. Though introduced on the Infiltrator Mk. II, it has since been modified to work with many types of Battle Armor, particularly the types used by the AFFS.

Most of the initial production runs of the Magshot Gauss Rifle were delivered to MI6 strike teams and AFFS special forces units. Since the weapon's introduction in 3060, production has increased significantly.

The Magshot Gauss Rifle formed the core of the 'Mech-sized Magshot weapon.
