Description

Designed as a fast recon and close-quarters, the Night Stalker, is a Medium Class BattleMech first produced during the mid-32nd Century. First original BattleMech produced by Victory Conditions Industries of Mizar, they introduced the Night Stalker arenas of Solaris VII where it would gather a reputation which would propelled the company’s sales to success. The design would soon see service in the Armed Forces of Federated Suns, Lyran Commonwealth, Mercenary units, and among nation states of the Inner Sphere.[2]

Weapons and Equipment

One of the attributes of the Night Stalker is its speed. Powered by its 320-Rated Extra-Light Engine, the powerful engine in small 40 ton design gives the Night Stalker ability to close distance between it and its objective. In the role as a recon and pursuit, design is fitted with a Beagle Active Probe give it eagle eye in finding hidden units. Design other features include a Torso-Mounted Cockpit, and TAG for artillery support. Protecting the 'Mech hull is 6.5 tons of Paulina Ferro-Fibrous Armor.

The Night Stalker's arsenal is design for intermediate and close-in fighting, with pair of right arm mounted Aggressor Extended Range Medium Lasers and its 6-tubed SRM Launcher in the left torso. When it enters close-range, the 'Mech can bring its Extended Range Small Laser and Small Pulse Laser to bare on a potential target. With combination of its speed, a MechWarrior can bring its usual shaped left arm mounted Lance and attempt to pierce the armor of an enemy.[3]

Variants

NSR-K1
Slightly differing from the base model, the K1 variant drops the base line K3's array of small lasers for additional ER Medium Laser and upgrading the 6-tube SRM to a Streak version. BV(2.0)=1,149[4]
NSR-K4
Similar to the K1, the design drops base line model's small lasers for two additional ER Medium Lasers, and swaps SRM launcher for a 4-tubed SRM Launcher with CASE protecting the 1 ton worth of ammunition. BV(2.0)=1,549[5]
NSR-K7
Designed a close-range fighter, this design became popular in arenas of Solaris VII prior to world falling into hands of Clan Wolf. While retaining the Lance and ER Small Laser of the K3 model, the K7 gains 3 Small Re-engineered Lasers and a Chain Whip. BV(2.0)=844[6]

Notes

The Night Stalker was original conceived by Wizkids for its MechWarrior Dark Age Collectable Miniatures game as a part of its Annihilation expansion set. The figure would be used as a both as a general and unique 'Mech in the CGC game. The Night Stalker would later adapted by Catalyst Game Labs and redefined in the tabletop game once the company advanced the franchise's timeline to 3145.
