Unit Description
The Omega Galaxy was a second-line military formation which was part of the touman of Clan Smoke Jaguar.[1]
History
Operation Bulldog
In 3059, the Omega had been deployed in the Smoke Jaguar's Occupation Zone, garrisoning various worlds. When the newly reformed Star League Defense Force launched its attacks as part of Operation Bulldog, the units of Omega Galaxy were caught by surprise.
The 151st Garrison Cluster on Virentofta, was caught in the 2nd Wave of the offensive. It was utterly destroyed by the task force consisting of 1st Federated Suns Armored Cavalry, Comstar's 31st Division, and mercenary regiments of the Northwind Hussars & Stirling's Fusiliers.
The Galaxy's only unit to go on the counter-offensive was its 27th Garrison Cluster, where it assaulted world of Lonaconing in July. There the 27th attacked the 15th Lyran Guards RCT which had been garrisoning the planet. The 27th Garrison's commanding officer, used diversionary & feint tactics against the Guards. However, these actions allowed the Guard inflict sever damage to the unit, while not allowing the Jaguars from inflicting heavy damaged on Lonaconing's defenders. On August 15th, Cluster withdrew due to recall order they had received. This left the 27th Garrison nearly intact as they withdrew from Occupation Zone.[2]
During the Third Wave, the Omega's Command Trinary & its 10th Jaguar Regulars Cluster fought SLDF forces on Jeronimo. Headed by the 14th Alshain Avengers, the Jaguars forces prolong the fight with Draconis Combine unit until the Fourth Wave. While Command Trinary escaped, the Regulars, lead by Star Colonel Ralph Kotare were destroyed by time of the Fourth wave concluded. Fighting against elite mercenary & House formations, such as 1st Kell Hounds, 14th Alshain Avengers, 1st Wolf Legion, and Davion Assault Guard.[3][4]
