Description[edit]

A primary unit in Free Worlds League aerospace forces, the Riever makes up for its low maneuverability, thrust, and somewhat lackluster weapons systems with its ability to take a punch and stay in the fight until the job is done. This post–Star League design also brings to the table easy maintenance and repair routines, due to the need for simplicity, even as early as the first decade of the twenty-ninth century. The primary mission of the Riever remains that of anti-enemy fighter formations and DropShips, rather than ground support.

Weapons and Equipment[edit]

The Riever's primary weapon is an aerospace-modified Imperator Zeta-A AC/20, supplied with a meager 10 rounds. The four Beta-6 SRM launchers are intended for anti-aerospace fighter operations; capable of destroying light fighters easily, they can also do significant damage to medium and heavy fighters. The Gamma 10 LRM was a late addition to the Riever series.

Variants[edit]

  • F-100a
This variant, introduced in 2829, swaps out the LRM-10 for two more SRM-6s. Unlike the anti-DropShip model, this one is intended to get into the thick of a dogfight and deal some SRM-style pain close-up. BV (1.0) = 1,381;[5][6] BV (2.0) = 1,575
  • F-100b
This unpopular variant was introduced in 2835 and replaces the SRM launchers with two AC/5s. In order to accommodate the autocannons, armor had to be sacrificed, costing the model its primary, and some say only, advantage. BV (1.0) = 1,223;[7][8] BV (2.0) = 1,262
  • F-700b
This variant was introduced during the FedCom Civil War. Equipped with 16 tons of ferro-aluminum armor for better protection, the standard AC/20 is also upgraded to a UAC-20 model, and the SRM launchers in each wing are updated to Streak SRM-6, with an extra launcher each. BV (2.0) =2,185[13]

Notes[edit]

  • In German products, the unit's proper name was altered to Schnitter, which roughly translates to Reaper. The model code was altered to F-500.
