Description

The Rogue was produced for the SLDF as a missile boat designed for zero-G combat. Though well-protected with Ferro-Aluminum armoring, its sluggish performance requires its escort by other fighters.[4][2]

Armament & Capabilities

Slow but well-armored, the Rogue generally is the first craft to launch in defensive operations. In this regard, the Rogue uses its wing-mounted Holly-8 LRM Delivery Systems to engage the enemy at long ranges and discourage predation of other launching craft. After 8 salvos, the craft is left to defend itself with two Starflash-1A Medium Lasers, with one each mounted in the nose and rear of the craft. Since it is often the first fighter to leave a fight, the rear laser is more likely to be used, discouraging any pursuit.[4][2]

Variants

  • RGU-133F - Though still poor at maneuvering and short on fuel, the RGU-133F is used as a ground-attack fighter by replacing each LRM-15 (and ammo) with 2 SRM-6s, with enough ammo for 30 salvos each, as well as the capability to carry bombs[5]. BV (2.0) = 818[3]
  • RGU-133L - A strafing model, the RGU-133L Rogue replaces the LRM-15s and ammo with a pair of wing-mounted Large Lasers and 6 heat sinks[6]. BV (2.0) = 865[3]
  • RGU-133LP - An upgraded RGU-133L variant by the ComGuard replaced the standard heat sinks with double strength ones and upgraded the Large and Medium Lasers to Pulse versions. This was by far the most potent version[7]. BV (2.0) = 865[3]
  • RGU-133P - This model replaced the LRMs with 2 PPCs and 2 additional heatsinks. When firing the newly acquired PPCs the pilots would often lose control[8]. BV (2.0) = 991 [3]
