Description[edit]

The Se'irim is a battle armor design in the Word of Blake's Demon Series, named for the satyr-like beings from Hebrew folklore. Used only in significant numbers by the elite Manei Domini, the Se'irim is the stealthy complement to the Asura. Where the latter serves as a main battlesuit the former specializes in ambush tactics. It carries 330kg of stealth armor, enough to stop a Medium Pulse Laser, which it uses along with its incredible ground speed get into cover and wait for the enemy's approach. Once in range Se'irim teams unleash a devastating first strike then use their mobility to close the gap quickly and swarm over the enemy. Their stealthy nature also allows teams of Se'irim to engage in reconnaissance and espionage strikes behind enemy lines.[4]

Weapons and Equipment[edit]

The main weapon on the Se'irim is a Light Recoilless Rifle in its right arm supplemented by a One-Shot SRM-5. When used all at once in a devastating first-strike these weapons allow a standard Se'irim squad to unleash thirty-six missiles and explosive rounds, enough to outright destroy even a light 'Mech. The Battle Vibro-Claw in the left arm is used in the follow-up melee attack to deliver the coup de grâce while a Searchlight provides illumination.[5]

Variants[edit]

  • Anti-Infantry
Possibly the last word in killing unarmored infantry, this variant of the Se'irim first appeared in 3073 and sported enough weaponry for a single trooper to take out an entire platoon without the assistance of other squad-mates. It mounts two Machine Guns over either shoulder, a Flamer in the right arm and an Anti-Personnel Weapon Mount in the left, though the AP mount can only carry a weapon 5kg or less. Each arm also ends in a Battle Claw. BV(2.0) = 40[5], 39[6]
  • Capture Team
This variant appeared in mid-3073 and is dedicated to capturing armor crews and MechWarriors. While retaining the searchlight of the standard and battle claws of the anti-infantry models, a Battle Armor Taser is mounted in a Detachable Weapon Mount on the suit's body for use in disabling and disrupting vehicles and 'Mechs. However the heavy Taser slows the suit down to 10 km/h, at least until it is jettisoned. More traditional armament comes in a pair of Light Machine Guns in either arm. BV (2.0) = 49[5], 40[7]
