Overview

The Snow Raven Yards at Lum are the only Shipyards in the Clan homeworlds capable of consistently constructing new WarShips from scratch. Snow Raven Yards is a Clan Snow Raven facility.

History

Other Clans seeking to construct new WarShips typically contract with Clan Snow Raven for the use of their shipyards.[1][2] This is largely due to the Snow Ravens having extensive design documents, schematics, and doctrinal materials relating to the WarShips used by the SLDF Navy.[3]

During the Wars of Reaving (in 3068[3]) a naval force of Clan Goliath Scorpion arrived in-system after a failed attack of Clan Star Adder units. The Scorpions declared a Trial of Possession for the Yards. The Raven leader used all system's assets for the defense, but after the yards' defenses attacked a Scorpion warship, the Scorpion forces opened fire on them, and more than half yards were destroyed in the fighting. The Scorpions won the trial, so they stripped the yards remains of anything useful, and moved all the yards sections they could to their Roche positions.[4] The main driving force for this Trial was the Scorpions' desire to collect the WarShip design documents brought by the SLDF during the Exodus.[3]
