Thomas Calderon (Born 3??? - Died 3056)[1] Early 31st Century Politian and Protector of the Taurian Concordat.

Thomas in his prime, was man of medium build whom had black curly hair.[2] As of 3028, a borderline paranoiac. Which was seen his increasing concern of House Davion's attack against his realm. He able despite that, be a devoted father and husband to his wife and children. However paranoia his would increase after death of his elder son.[3]

History

Early Life

Thomas was elder son of Zarantha Calderon, when hunting in his childhood he would be loose left eye in a hunting accident. His eye would be replaced by cybernetic eye.[4]

Early Years of his reign as Protector

In 3017, Thomas succeeds his mother. He set on building up the Aerospace forces of TDF as part his passion to protect the Concordat from attack. He arranges treaty with Outworlds Alliance to enable Alliance instructors increase his pilots training. As part of these efforts, he opens up two universities set out of the old borders of the Hyades Cluster.[5] Thomas had seen the colonization efforts of the Far Lookers as potential security risk, as he felt the enlarged Concordat was vulnerable to attack, weakening of its defenses. After the Fourth Succession War, he began to shift colonization funding towards his military to bring them to point that invasion would be rebuffed if attempted.[6]

Thomas's instability turned for the worst in 3034, when his son Edward was killed in a DropShip accident. The accident had also killed dozen of his advisors, but his son had been his closest advisor and it hurt him deeply. Politically, potentially harmful since Edward lacked his father's fear of invasion.[7] In following year, he would abolish tax credits that helped fun the colonization efforts of the Far Lookers. However, unknown to Thomas, members of the Trade & Colonization Ministry had been embezzling money to guarantee funding for group's future efforts.

In 3037, Thomas had launched a investigation why his crash course to develop ferro-fibrous armor from ruins of SLDF depot on Celano. His investigation instead turn up the Far looker's embezzling scheme instead. Infuriated by this, he orders the arrest of entire Ministry of Trade and Colonization and seizer of anyone involver's assets. The scandal would derail his efforts to have in high tech armor developed in life time.[8]

Thomas would create increase tensions with Federated Suns/Federated Commonwealth border. Series of accident and rogue raids in the 3040s would lead to him ordering Concordat's defense forces to go high alert in 3049. He became convinced that FedCom's war exercise Future Victor 39 being held on border worlds was staging points for invasion of the Concordat. His surviving children save Jeffery would soon be unable to become heir-apparent to take on the tile of Protector.[9]

During this time, Taurian Guard Corp's commanding officer Marshal Haji Doru begun his show his political opposition to Thomas's polities. In sighting that efforts maintain constant red alert was bad for nation's economy, standing alert status while maintaining a strong defense.[10]

Later Years as Protector and his Removal

During the 3040s and 50s, Thomas's son, Jeffery had secretly developed strong friendship with his then Commander Haji Doru while serving in Taurian Guards. Behind Thomas back, his son begun set frame work to strengthen of the Concordat and ultimately his removal.[11] Marshal Doru continued to question Thomas's policies, which he ignored.

In 3055, members of the Ministry of Trade and Colonization had disturbed Thomas's meeting his advisors whom demanded the end of Conscription of civilians for construction military projects. They threaten him with court action accusing him of violating civil liberties of citizens of the Concordat. Soon after confrontation, Thomas orders Marshal Doru to arrest the ministers for their threat. However, Doru refuses and has him placed into protective custody of the Taurian Guards' 2nd Battalion. Soon after, Doru announces that Thomas is unsuited for Protectorship of the Concordat. He then to the Calderon family reports what had to do, which in short convinces Thomas's 29 year old son Jeffery to take Protectorship. A year after the his removal, Thomas dies in his bed in.[12]

Family

Thomas had five children with his wife Katherine; Edward, Janice, Ian, Felix, and Jeffery.
