Welcome

Welcome, Fredericmora, to BattleTechWiki!

We look forward to your contributions and want to help you get off to a good strong start. Hopefully you will soon join the army of BattleTech Editors! If you need help formatting the pages, visit the manual of style. For general questions go to the Help section or the FAQ. If you can't find your answer there, please ask an Admin.

Additional tips
Here's some extra tips to help you get around in the wiki:

  • For policies and guidelines, see The Five Core Policies of BattleTechWiki and the BTW Policies. Another good place to check out is our market of Projects, to see how the smaller communities within BTW do things in their particular niche areas.
  • Each and every page (articles, policies, projects, images, etc.) has its very own discussion/talk page, found on the tab line at the top of the page. This is a great place to find out what the community is discussing along that subject and what previous issues have already been solved.
  • If you want to play around with your new wiki skills, the Sandbox is for you. Don't worry: you won't break anything. A great resource for printing out is the Wiki Cheat Sheet.
  • If you're not registered, then please consider doing so. At the very least, you'll have a UserPage that you own, rather than sharing one with the community.
  • Also consider writing something about yourself on your UserPage (marked as "Fredericmora" at the top of the page, though only do this if you're registered). You'll go from being a 'redshirt' to a 'blueshirt,' with the respect of a more permanent member.
    • This is really helpful for the admins, as it gives your account that touch of "humanity" that assists us in our never-ending battle with spambots.
  • For your first few edits on the wiki, please do not add any URLs (which can be an indicator of SPAM).
  • Consider introducing yourself on our Discord server.
  • In your Preferences, under the edit tab, consider checking Add pages I create to my watchlist and Add pages I edit to my watchlist, so that you can see how your efforts have affected the community. Check back on following visits by clicking on watchlist.
  • If you're bored and want to find something to do, try the Random button in the sidebar, or check out the List of Wanted Pages. Or even go to Special Pages to see what weird stuff is actually tracked by this wiki.
  • Please sign your name on Talk pages using four tildes (~~~~) or by clicking on the circled button in this image; this will automatically produce your name (or IP address, if you are editing anonymously) and the date.

Again, welcome to Sarna's BattleTechWiki!

Notable pilots

Hey Fred,

Just a heads up that I have removed your notable pilot insert from the Atlas article as Bryant Foster is likrly not really notable.. But I have used your work as the basis for the character to have his own article. Bryant Foster. I am likely going to be doing this to a few of your inserts (I presume they are yours.. You have only signed in once but there have been a few IPs doing very simikar work to you).--Dmon (talk) 10:43, 30 October 2018 (EDT)

Bloodnamed Warriors

Hi Frederic. The information of the Bloodnamed warriors is already in the Wiki. See Category:Bloodnames, and then inside each bloodname--Pserratv (talk) 11:40, 14 February 2019 (EST)

References

Hi Frederic, you need to add the references to the text you add to the wiki, explaining from which book and page this does come.--Pserratv (talk) 11:40, 14 February 2019 (EST)

I see you are having trouble when trying to add references. Instructions can be found here: Help:References
Don't hesitate to ask for assistance if you need it. --Cache (talk) 14:00, 26 February 2019 (EST)

Breaking wiki rules

Fred, I have removed your edit from the Paul Moon article for the second time as it breaks the Policy:Moratorium of the wiki. Also two days ago you removed a [citation needed] tag from the Akira Brahe without actually adding a correct reference, both these acts can fall under Policy:Disruptive editing as such if this behavior continues it could result your removal from the site. Several members of the community have reached out to you and we would rather work with you than ban you but the ball is in your court.--Dmon (talk) 11:43, 28 February 2019 (EST)

Fred, you have again added information from Forever Faithful to the wiki before we are allowed too. As a result I have had to remove your edits to the Nicholas Kerensky article. Please stop.--Dmon (talk) 12:01, 6 March 2019 (EST)

Bringing articles up to standard

Hey Fred, Please could you take a look at Republic Remnant and Stone's Coalition and possibly try to bring them upto a standard that is closer to the rest of the wiki. They are completely unreferenced and not to be harsh but they really are poor and probably need a complete reformat and possibly a rewrite to be of any use to the wiki.

Your article on Ean is much better and I was able to find the source material and at least tweak it to broadly meet wiki standards, BUT it could still do with some more care.--Dmon (talk) 16:39, 14 March 2019 (EDT)

Need Citations

Hi Fred, i'm not sure if your able to response here, so i will try to explain. Each time you add information to a article, you add info. You need do a reference from where you came from. Example your Omega entry, where you said there was a functional Omega in Solaris. Where is this from? We need know the book, page, add it to a ref to it so we don't look like were making stuff up. I vaguely recall reading this, but i'm unsure where. Can you respond to this? you can do it by editing this by typing under where i'm typing with --Edit like normal, then do swish sign. next to the "1" on your English based keyboard. ---- Wrangler (talk) 11:43, 20 March 2019 (EDT) +1like this?

Thank you

Hey Fred, I just wanted to say thank you for starting to put references in your work. I was growing frustrated having to delete so much of your work, the whole process was wasting both your time and mine. I hope this improvement is the first step towards us being able to work together in a positive manner.--Dmon (talk) 18:45, 1 April 2019 (EDT)
