Senior Sergeant Major Andrew "AJ" Greiling was an Armor Commander with the Lyran Commonwealth's First Royal Guards as of 3143.[1]

Greiling enlisted in the Lyran Commonwealth Armed Forces on his eighteenth birthday around 3103, and proved to be both an extremely capable and loyal NCO. As a result he was invited to join the prestigious First Royal Guards, and as a House Steiner loyalist, was placed in "protective custody" during the short reign of the usurper Vedet Brewer.
Still ashamed at his failure to protect Archon Melissa Steiner from Brewer's coup, shortly after his release from custody during the Battle of Tharkad in 3143, the then forty-year LCAF veteran Greiling swore an oath not to outlive his Archon. Taking an all volunteer crew, his tank single handed held up Clan Wolf's Alpha Galaxy in the Triad. Using their familiarity with the area, Greiling's crew managed to hit and fade for twenty minutes before being hunted down, destroying five Wolf 'Mechs and buying time for Archon Trillian Steiner-Davion to escape.[1]
