Adept Lambda-X Carlos "Stinky" Taos was a Armor crew member with the 47th Shadow Division during the Word of Blake Jihad.[1]

Taos participated in the Word's occupation of Galatea in 3072, where the 47th Shadow Division was impersonating the Northwind Highlanders, including their attack on the town of Naperland. During this engagement Taos used foul-smelling but harmless chemical Mercaptans artillery shells to clear the town of infantry and "unbuttoned" armor, which successfully crippled a number of units with incapacitating nausea.
Reports of this battle gave Taos both his nickname "Stinky", as well as an unearned reputation for using more serious chemical weapons.[1]
