Largely considered a "old guard" MechWarrior, Daniel Daley would pilot the ancient Griffin he inherited from his grandfather while a member of the Federated Suns Armored Cavalry. Insisting on piloting a un-upgraded family machine even during the 3060s, Daley silenced his critics with his skills at controls of the lowtech and quirky machine, earning victory after victory through the chaos of the FedCom Civil War and the Word of Blake Jihad.[1]
The war-weary Daley would ultimately retire after the Jihad, resisting the Federated Suns' version of Devlin Stone's Military Materiel Redemption Program to take his family 'Mech home. The eventual whereabouts of the Daley Griffin by the Dark Age era was unknown.[1]
