History[edit]
The Lyran Commonwealth Armed Forces recruited elements of the 18th Infantry Division in 2782.[1] A Star League Defense Force command, the 18th Infantry had been a part of LXVII Corps[2] within the SLDF Eleventh Army,[1][2] but it had been disbanded following the battle for Alula Australis[3][2] and personnel from the Eighteenth went on to join both the LCAF and the DCMS.[2] Those who joined the LCAF were formed into a reactivated regiment within the Lyran Guards, the Eighteenth Lyran Guards.[1]
As the largest brigade within the LCAF at the time, the Lyran Guards were organized into a number of divisions; the 18th would have been incorporated into the 2nd Lyran Guards Division.[4]
