In 2834, Clan Mongoose launched an attack on one of Clan Coyote's primary agricultural communities on Tamaron, without which the Coyote's continued colonization of the world would be devastated. Star Captain James Nash won the right to choose the site of battle and lead the Coyote's defense, hoping that the rough ground and shallow ravines of the Cahalle Desert would slow the famously fast-moving Mongoose 'Mechs. The tight grouping of Nash's 'Mechs, combined with the difficult terrain the defenders had chosen, ultimately caused the Mongoose attackers to break zellbrigen and allowed the Coyote defenders to mass their return fire and drive the Mongooses from the field.[1]
A talented and thoughtful warrior, James Nash was enamored with his clan's new capital planet and spent much of his time exploring its distant reaches and advocating for their preservation from development efforts. During the trial in the Cahalle Desert, Nash's skills as a commander were responsible for the Coyotes' victory, but his skills as a MechWarrior certainly helped. While Nash succeeded in downing three enemy 'Mechs, including a Shadow Hawk IIC and a Valkyrie, a lucky strike from a Mongoose ER PPC impacted his cockpit and killed him instantly. Nash's victory would be recorded in his clan's Remembrance and his genes would be used often in Coyote Iron Wombs, ensuring his legacy would always be felt so long as his clan lived.[2]

James Nash fought at the controls of a Masauwu 'Mech during the trial in the Cahalle Desert and died when its cockpit was hit by ER PPC fire.[2]
