Jonathan Mercer was the commander of Beta Galaxy ("Steel Fang Galaxy") of Clan Steel Viper from at least 3052 to 3055.[1][2]

Mercer was replaced as commander of Beta Galaxy in 3055, by his former aide-de-camp Angelica Zalman, following his death during a raid on the Clan Jade Falcon world of Evciler. This raid was carried out with the 195th Striker Cluster, who held a grudge against the 7th Falcon Regulars for killing Mercer, for some time afterwards.[2]
