Star Colonel Karen Tupolov was the commander of the Vega Protectorate's First Vega Regulars Cluster from at least 3136 to 3145.[1]

Early Life[edit]
Tupolov lived her early life entirely on the North Nanturo continent of Vega, never having travelled elsewhere on Vega or off world, despite having piloted IndustrialMechs and fought warlord forces since she was fifteen years old.[3]
First Vega Regulars[edit]
As of November 3136, the then Captain Karen Tupolov was commander of the newly formed First Vega Regulars, a volunteer freeborn local militia force which had been incorporated into Vega's Clan Ghost Bear security forces. She rose to this role, from being a junior officer in the initially pro-Republic of the Sphere militia, following the heavy casualties they suffered helping the initial Ghost Bear landings on Vega against their warlord opponents.[4]
As the Regulars commander, she worked under the supervision of Omega Galaxy Star Colonel Conner Hall, who considered her his right hand women, in their joint fight against local insurgents.[5] Late in November 3136 however, while hunting insurgent 'Mechs Tupolov and Hall were ambushed by a larger than expected enemy force, made up of Draconis Combine affiliated 'Mechs. During the ensuring battle, Tupolov's 'Mech was disabled and she was severely injured.[6] Despite her wounds including brain damage beyond what even Clan medicine would usually be expected to heal, due to his growing affection for Tupolov, Star Colonel Hall ordered the Clan Doctors to attempt an experimental regenerative procedure.[7]
During her treatment, Conner Hall came to realize his love for Tupolov despite that being forbidden by the Way of the Clans, resulting in him publicly declaring for the dissident Freeminders movement.[8] By December 3136 the experimental treatments provided to Tupolov had started to succeed, resulting in her coming out of the coma she had been kept in, and being able to recognize Hall.[9]
Later Career[edit]
By 3145, Tupolov had apparently recovered enough from her injuries to return to duty as a Star Colonel again leading the First Vega Regulars on Vega and to marry her lover Conner Hall, becoming known as Karen Tupolov-Hall.[1]
BattleMech[edit]
Tupolov was known to have piloted modified IndustrialMechs, AgroMechs and MiningMechs.[5][6][4]
