Description[edit]
Leonidas battle armor was a product of Etna Foundries and was intended to plug a capability gap in the armed forces of the Duchy of Oriente, a gap created by scarcity of the older Achileus stealth suit. The Leonidas suit is highly configurable, capable of being reconfigured for various battlefield missions including providing positional information, calling in artillery strikes, waging counterinsurgency warfare and conducting ambushes; the various roles are made possible through the different weapons and equipment loadouts available via the Modular Weapon Mount.[1]
After soldiers equipped with Leonidas battle armor achieved a number of successes provided a testimony to the suit's capabilities the Leonidas suit was exported widely across the Inner Sphere and to various Periphery states.[1]
Weapons and Equipment[edit]
Protected by Standard Stealth armor and capable of moving at speeds of up to 32.4 km/h - although incapable of jumping - Leonidas battle armor carries an Anti-Personnel Weapon Mount and a Modular Weapon Mount on the right arm while a Heavy Battle Claw was fitted to the left arm. The Modular Weapon Mount could be fitted with various weapons and systems including a "David" Light Gauss Rifle with fifteen rounds of ammunition, a Machine Gun and fifty rounds of ammunition, a Firedrake Support Needler with thirty rounds of ammunition, a Light TAG system with sixty rounds of ammunition or a package of Improved Sensors. Mounted to the body of the suit was an Angel ECM Suite.[1]
Variants[edit]
As of 3145 no variants of the Leonidas had been introduced to service.
