Martin Sandoval was a Federated Suns noble and nephew of Robinson's Duke and Lord of the Draconis March, Aaron Sandoval.[1]
History[edit]
Martin Sandoval and his Robinson Rangers entourage built up a sizeable drug and gambling debt with a loan shark off-world. When the lenders tried to collect, Martin ratted them out to his uncle Aaron Sandoval, who used his political clout to have them arrested by Federated Suns authorities. What they didn't know was that the suppliers and loan sharks belonged to a much larger organization, one that wouldn't stand for a noble feeling he could walk out of his debt, and they placed a sizable bounty of around twenty-five million C-bills on Martin's head.[1]
Sandoval and his friends were stationed under heavy protection on Robinson, the provincial capital of the Federated Suns' Draconis March, but the Bounty Hunter intended to collect. He found an opening when Sandoval's detachment was scheduled to be rotated to a remote outpost toward the base of a large mountain range to conduct training exercises. Due to particular difficulties the Bounty Hunter couldn't get around on his own, he brought Jake Mason and his Cavaliers in on the job, giving them a thirty percent cut. Mason had already been working for the Hunter as an informant, sending him intel on various mercenary units they encountered throughout the Inner Sphere.[1]
The Bounty Hunter sent two of his team in 'Mechs equipped with advanced electronic countermeasures to screen Mason's lance as they advanced, causing confusion and drawing away the Rangers' main forces while the Hunter approached from the rear. As Sandoval was being surrounded, he offered to pay the Hunter double the bounty to let him live, which the Hunter replied was too late. He and all defending forces were killed; the Hunter wanted to leave no survivors who could implicate their involvement.[1]
BattleMech[edit]
Martin Sandoval piloted a custom BNC-3S Banshee that most notably traded the four medium lasers in the right torso for small pulse lasers while upgrading both PPCs to ER PPCs. The two small lasers were switched to short burst and the SRM-6 was the stream fire version.[1]
Behind the Scenes[edit]
Martin Sandoval was voiced by Zach LeBlanc.[2]
