Plot summary[edit]
On 13 May 3067 a pirate BattleMech Lance assaulting the Federated Suns world of Monhegan has evaded the militia 'Mechs and is headed towards a depot in the heart of the Bankin Preserve forest. The only defenders available are a company of twelve helicopters under Lieutenant Ivan Sharpe that belong to an (unnamed) mercenary regiment. They have to harass and delay the 'Mechs until their own DropShip arrives with BattleMech reinforcements. Sharpe manages to keep his troops in line despite heavy losses and his own doubts, and in the end they manage to defeat the 'Mechs.
