Reinhardt Samm was a Lyran Commonwealth baron in 2791.[1]

In 2791, Samm was sent to Wyatt with the Fifth Lyran Guards and the Fourth Donegal Guards to discuss with Althea Roark, the ruling noble, the planet changing allegiance. Samm first met the family when he encountered Captain Stephan Roark, late of the now departed Star League Defense Force.
Samm informed House Roark that the Lyrans planned to annex Wyatt now that the Marik Militia had withdrawn, leaving only the planetary militia. Archon Richard Steiner offered the Roarks the opportunity to retain their noble titles and holdings if they offered no resistance to House Steiner.
The following day, Lyran DropShips land near Wyatt City and Castle Roark. Though Marik forces fought a spirited defense, in the end they had to retreat to Castle Roark, where they found Lyran 'Mechs in command of the facility. Baron Samm congratulated Stephan Roark on a battle nobly fought and greeted him as a new Lyran noble. Baron Samm informed Stephan that his mother surrendered to the Commonwealth, ensuring that House Roark would retain its titles, and told Stephan that his patent of nobility meant he could do anything he wanted in the Inner Sphere. Stephan punched Samm in the face, remarking that he already had that privilege as a soldier.[1]
