The Tarawa was a DropShip of unspecified class.[1]

The 3132 Dragon's Fury attack on Addicks displaced a portion of the population. Around 3,000 residents of Hesperus, an aerospace industry suburb, escaped by hijacking three nearby DropShips: the Terrestria, the New Hope, and the Tarawa. Two of the ships were owned by the Dragon's Fury. On 18 November, the three DropShips arrived on Towne, where the refugees were given a mixed welcome. Residents gave much to help the refugees. However, there were some clashes with Dragon's Fury supporters, at times escalating to riots.[1][2]
It took until April 3133 for the refugees to start to return to Addicks, with some electing to stay on Towne. The Tarawa carried the initial batch of around 1,000 refugees who wished to return, such as Millicent Lao-shu.[1]
