Overview

The 286th Royal BattleMech Division was a part of the Star League Defense Force Regular Army. It was one of the SLDF's Royal units, which consisted of troops from the Terran Hegemony.

History

The Division traditionally recruits from inhabitants of the former Soviet Empire on Terra as well as colonies formed by their descendants.[1]

In 2764, the unit was assigned, as a part of the XVIII Corps, Seventeenth Army, to the Periphery Military Region, but was moved to an undisclosed area of the Periphery in 2765.[2] The 286th was destroyed during the Periphery Uprising.[2]

Tactics

The Division seen as the main assault force of the XVIII Corps and was often sent to deal with pirate operations identified in its operational area. In this role they are adept at rapid deployment. [1]

Composition

As an SLDF BattleMech division the 286th would have been formed from two Brigades of BattleMech regiments and a brigade of Mechanized Infantry regiments.[3]
