2nd Luxen Volunteers
Nickname The Luxen Dragoons[1]
Affiliation Magistracy of Canopus
Parent Command People's Volunteers

History

The Second Luxen Volunteers were formed by the Magistracy of Canopus in the Star League Era to provide protection to their newly colonized worlds. They were largely composed of volunteers who couldn't afford a place in the Magistracy's military academies. Instead the soldiers of the Volunteers largely used hands-on experience to learn their craft. In 2765 they engaged a battalion sized force of pirates, which inflicted heavy losses on the Volunteers. Rebuilding the Second required the Magistracy Command to divert resources from the 3rd Luxen Volunteers. Stationed on Novo Tressida, their morale was low due to their heavy losses.[2]
