Formation
The surviving units of the Eigth and Thirty-fourth Galedron Regulars were combined to form the Forty-second.[1]
Operation Bulldog
During Operation Bulldog, the 42nd fought the Smoke Jaguars on Chupadero and Virentofta.[citation needed]
Dominion War
During the war with the Ghost Bears, they were stationed on Kanowit and fought the Bears' 68th Striker Cluster.[2] The unit was stationed on Kanowit as of 3067.[3]

- 3059, the Forty-second's commanding officer is Tai-sa Richard Hanson.[1]
- 3067, Mark Gosch was the unit commander[citation needed]
Tactics
The tactics of the Forty-second vary by battalion. The First and Second Battalions, drawn from the 8th and 34th respectively, retain their old units' tactical specialties. The Third Battalion, having less experience, has no specialty.[1]
