History[edit]
The Forty-fourth Reserve Battle Cluster was formerly a front-line unit, redesignated as a Reserve Cluster as its reputation plummeted over two decades since 3040.[1] It had been stationed on Londerholm and in 3060 put in a good performance in combat against Clan Ice Hellion. It was still in position on planet in 3061[2] and 3067.[3]
The Forty-fourth was part of the force that assaulted Vinton in August 3073 after months of hard fighting they withdrew in July 3074.[4] In December 3074 the Steel Vipers launched a massive assault on against Clan Coyote on Tamaron with six Galaxies and a large naval force. Delta Galaxy including the Forty-fourth was part of the Coyote defending force. The Vipers made planetfall despite the fierce aerospace attacks. After a week fighting the Viper forces made for their objectives, several major factory complexes in the Apache Mountains before moving on to the capital. The fighting to defend the capital city saw Delta Galaxy and the Forty-fourth destroyed.[5]
