History

Dark Age

The Eighth Tamarind Regulars were a fairly new unit when the Lyran Commonwealth invaded the Duchy of Tamarind-Abbey in 3137. During the Duchy's attempt to reclaim its capital the Eighth underwent its baptism of fire, and later found itself forced to take up the duties of destroyed units following HAMMERFALL.[1]

During the Fourth Battle of Tamarind, the Eighth took advantage of Rocinha's Caballeros' efforts to stall the Second Buena Guards' retreat to Zanzibar, cutting off part of the Lyran unit's conventional forces.[2]

On 15 August 3150, when the Duchy reacted to heavy Marian Hegemony raids by mounting its own invasion of that Periphery state, two battalions from the Eighth were deployed against San Nicolas and easily took the world when it's sole battalion of mercenary defenders retreated with minimal resistance. On Lahti and Landfall the Eighth and First Tamarind Regulars together wiped out the Marian defenders.[3] Following this, the Eighth took part in the Tamarind-Abbey assault upon Illyria that eventually saw that provincial capital conquered.[4]
