History
The Ninth Tikonov Lancers officially formed in 2783, but their origins lay in two older commands, the Seventh Jump Infantry Division and the 147th Mechanized Infantry Division.[1] The Seventh was originally a part of XL Corps within the Star League Defense Force Fifteenth Army,[2] whilst the 147th was a part of LXVIII Corps within the Eighteenth Army.[3]
In 2782 the Capellan Confederation managed to woo two battalions of assorted SLDF personnel away from the Seventh, and in 2783, the CCAF managed to recruit another battalion of assorted personnel from the 147th; in 2784 the CCAF used these three battalions to form the basis of the Ninth Tikonov Lancers.[1]
