Anders Kessel was a senior politician and military leader in Republic of the Sphere during the Dark Age Era, holding positions such as Paladin and Lord Governor.[1]

History[edit]

Paladin[edit]

On 16 December 3134, Paladin Kessel publicly declared a state of a local state of “extreme emergency” on New Aragon, due to the threat of the Capellan Confederation.[2] However by March 3135 Kessel was trying to calm local on New Aragon authorities regarding their worries about the continuing Capellan Confederation threat, telling them based on discussions with other Paladins including David McKinnon he now believed the Capellans had adopted a policy of containment.[3] While on New Aragon Kessel and McKinnon also criticized local Legate Camilo Gutierrez for allowing the destruction of the industrial sector of Jahrman, the second-largest city in Tandoh province, during a raid by the Capellan McCarron's Armored Cavalry.[4]

By May 3135 Kessel was back on Terra[5], where he remained until at least 31 August 3135, when Exarch Jonah Levin announced the raising of The Wall and formation of Fortress Republic, which Kessel opposed as the "loss of Stone's dream" and defeatism.[6]

Lord Governor[edit]

By 3145, Kessel had been removed from the ranks of the Paladins by Devlin Stone, on the basis his skills were more political than military.[1] His replacement role, more suited to his political skills, was as Lord Governor of Prefecture X in its guise of Fortress Republic.[7]
