Description
The Archangel is the largest of the Word of Blake's Celestial series of OmniMechs. The 'Mech has been termed a "zombie," in homage to the fact that it is almost impossible to destroy. The Archangel features a compact fusion engine, compact gyro, and nineteen and a half tons of standard armor. The 'Mech's Endo Steel frame makes the heavy components possible, while the 'Mech's small cockpit gives it more space to mount equipment. A C3i Computer helps direct fire.
Armament
The Invictus version of the Archangel carries the "zombie" mentality further by denying the use of any exploding equipment and by including a Guardian ECM Suite. The 'Mech's only weapons are its Plasma Rifle and Heavy PPC, though both are slaved to an advanced targeting computer. The Invictus also includes jump jets, allowing the 100-tonner to hop 90 meters. Finally, a Retractable Blade gives the design added accuracy up close.
Variants
- Dominus - Like the Invictus, the Dominus is short on weapons compared to other 100-ton 'Mechs, but carries no ammunition. It uses a pair of arm-mounted Heavy PPCs, as well as a Snub-Nose PPC and a pair of ER Medium Lasers mounted in the head and center, respectively. Eight additional double heat sinks keep the 'Mech's heat under control. BV (2.0) = 2,216
