History[edit]

The Bleeding Eagles was an unit said to be formed with Free Worlds League expatriates. They were active already in 3151, and in Galatea, the Mercenary Star, where contracted by a newborn state: the Tamar Pact, specifically, by Sarah Regis, the Pact's leader. As the Pact was very exigent, they must have had a good reputation and prestige.[1]

However, the Eagles had some disputes in Galatea with the Twenty-first Centauri Lancers, another of the main units working for the Pact. These escalated during the way to Arcturus, and the 21st even asked specifically to not be deployed along them or Burnt Offering except in emergencies.[2] The Eagles, when participated at the battle of Pandora, the 23 December, like the Offering, failed to coordinate with the Lancers, which later led to several near fiascos, leaving the 21th needlessly bogged down.[3] Their first mission was to take the planet Graceland. The Eagles' commander, colonel Barnes, was received by a man called Donal Malthus, member of House Malthus. Despite being a organized crime family from the Lyran Commonwealth, the colonel recognized he had took command of the planet after the Clan Jade Falcons have departed. After negotiating, Malthus agreed to form an alliance, entering the Pact, provided the Eagles remained at Graceland protecting it.[4]

The Killer Bees, a subcommand of the 21th, made their point during a combat exercise on Arcturus. They bombarded the Eagles' column, but not with chalk munitions, but with canisters which covered their 'Mechs, tanks and dismounting infantry with dozens of liters of honey-flavored quillar syrup. A meeting of both commands, after a much-needed showers, resulted on an airing grievances, and both units agreed to better coordination.[5]
