History
Choung Vong was the the CCAF commander who led the failed invasion of Carver V during Operation GUERRERO in 3057.
After the debacle he became a pirate.
During the Carver campaing and Over Ambassador Yee's objections, Colonel David Renard orders the mercenaries to intercept and destroy his bandit convoy that is trying to cross the Little Yangtze River from Steiner into Liao territory. Renard subsequently orders the mercenaries to cross the river in pursuit of the bandits.
Colonel Renard, displaying signs of paranoia, orders the mercenaries to destroy the bandit stronghold on Little Bear Island in the Ivan Sector while most of their forces are drawn away by a full-scale Lyran assault. During the mercenary attack, the mercenaries intercept a transmission in which Chong Vong calls for support from House Liao, but is rebuffed.
Ha and his forces are shattered by the mercenaries.
Between 3057 and 3063 he was the Sang-shao of the 1st Liao Grenadiers.[1]
During their time rebuilding, Sang-shao Choung Vong received unconfirmed reports that the Word of Blake was responsible for the disaster inflicted upon them on Carver V. The enraged Sang-shao promptly shot the WoB acolyte who delivered the confidential report. On their next mission to Genoa, the Grenadiers accidentally targeted a WoB installation during their battle with the local militia. Unable to sugarcoat such public actions, the Strategios gave reparations using supplies intended for the regiment. This has slowed rebuilding to a crawl and further lowered morale. The unit blamed the WoB for it all, further provoking attacks and reparations. By 3067, the unit is still down a battalion of 'Mechs with the overall average weight being reduced to a medium regiment.[2] The unit was stationed on the Liao Commonality world of Kaifeng as of 3067.[3]
BattleMech
