History
The Colonel Crockett was a 'Mech-transporting DropShip of the Overlord-class in service with the Allied forces during the FedCom Civil War. The Colonel Crockett transported Major General Archer Christifori and some of Archer's Avengers covertly from the planet Graceland to New Avalon in late 3066, so that Christifori and the Avengers could take part in the final battles against the forces of Archon Katherine Steiner.[1]
Notes
The Colonel Crockett was depicted transporting General Christifori and several of his senior officers from Graceland to New Avalon[1] but no indication is given of its size. Archers Avengers was an amalgam of the surviving elements of the First and Second Thorin Regiments - the second having the nickname "the Muphrid Rangers" - but the Avengers had been reduced in size to slightly more than a battalion in strength at this point. It's possible that the Colonel Crockett was responsible for transporting all of the surviving BattleMechs, but reference is made to Archer's Avengers being deployed on New Avalon "not far from their DropShips", indicating that the Avengers utilised at least two DropShips. However, as the exact composition of the Avengers and their DropShips is unknown, it is unclear as to whether the the DropShips mentioned were solely 'Mech carriers or a mix of the Colonel Crockett and transports for other forms of unit such as aerospace fighters or armor.[2]
