Consuelo Calderon

History

Consuelo Calderon (b.2625, d.2671) was Henry Calderon's choice to succeed him in 2629 when she was only 4 years old. Her father was Henry's cousin Richard Calderon. She claimed her right of succession in 2650 at the age of 25.[1] Consuelo had come to power in a time of detente among the Periphery nations and the Star League, and was a skilled and able administrator as well as a gifted diplomat. So well reguarded by her peers among the Star League High Council that she was elected Second Lord (Vice-President) of that body in 2663 and in 2667 was the only Periphery representive to ever preside over a session of that body until the Amaris Civil War.[2] For her even justice she was known throughout the Inner Sphere and Concordat as Consuelo the Fair.

Consuelo died of heart disease at the age of 46. The protectorate went to Marantha Calderon's great-grandson Reginald Calderon.[3]

Notes

There are no records nor mention of Consuelo being married or of any children by her body. Given that the Protectorship went to a cousin the most likely case is that Consuelo had neither, but it is possible that any child of hers simply passed on or was rejected as unfit for the Protectorship. Such actions would have been noteworthy to say the least, but again without clarification or direct evidence in the text sources I can only speculate to that matter.Deeppockets 03:55, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
