Description
The Fennec is a Medium Class BattleMech that was produced for the Federated Suns in early 3080s. The design was conceived help address AFFS need for lighter lance level Command 'Mech. Corean used components from Legionnaire help put the design into production at its plant on Augusta. Republic of the Sphere Intelligence reports suggests that early prototypes of the Fennec were deployed in 3080 by Davion Assault Guard in a conflict with Taurian Concordat.
The 'Mech features a C3 Master Computer, which allows it coordinate other C3 lancemates. To protect's Mech computer and XL Fusion Engine, the design is protected by 9.5 tons of Kallon Unity Weave Ferro-Fibrous Armor. MechWarriors piloting the 'Mech need be mindful of the heat produced by its weapons and engine. The design has only 10 Double Heat Sinks to alleiate the 'Mech's heat.[2]
Armament
The 'Mechs long range weapons consist of pair armed mounted Magna Hellstar PPCs, which are backed up in-close ranges with pair of Medium Pulse Lasers.[3]
Variants
- FEC-3C - This is variant of the Fennec uses C3 Slave Computer instead of the employing the Master Computer. Designed as companion for the Fennec's C3 Master variant, the 'Mech employs pair of Light PPCs in place of standard models. To help allievate the design's heat issues, the 'Mech has given two additional Double Heat Sinks. BV=????[4]
