History

Formation

Not highly regarded, the Filtvelt Academy Training Battalion is attached to the Filtvelt Military Academy. As one of the few schools in the Federated Suns Outback region, the soldiers assigned to the training battalion work very hard to justify their presence. Unfortunately, their status as an Outback school means that many regular line AFFS officers regard them as barely trained bumpkins.

In 3062, a new command staff arrived. These officers transferred from the 2nd Robinson Rangers as a group. This simultaneously improved the quality of the teaching staff and revitalized the training battalion.

Civil War

They faced Allied forces and were disarmed but later returned to service defending the Periphery border.[1]

Jihad

With the formation of the Filtvelt Coalition, the troops of the Filtvelt Academy Training Battalion either returned to the Federated Suns or joined the new nation's army.

Officers

As of 3062 the commanding officer was Kommandant Asumi Tomisawa.[2] In 3067 the training battalion was commanded by Major Erich LeBeau.[3]
