Ignacio Blake was the commander of the Star League Defense Force's Navy (Naval Command) from 2764 to 2772.[1][2][3]

History

Admiral Ignacio Blake replaced Admiral Joan Brandt as head of Naval Command in 2764 when Brandt stepped down to oversee combat operations within the Magistracy of Canopus during the Periphery Uprising.[4]

In Aaron DeChavilier/Zhang Craggs' SLDF 2764 Readiness Report,[5] it was noted that Ignacio Blake was concerned about Admiral Salman Venizelos' appointment as commander of the Seventh Fleet, which had been used as a dispersed fleet due to Venizelos' experience with lighter ships, and was unsure he had the required managerial skill set to consolidate and reform the fleet in order to conduct large-scale operations.[6] Blake was also impressed with Admiral Thomas Belleau, commander of the Nineteenth Fleet, and had marked him for consideration to succeed him as commander of the Star League Navy upon his retirement.[7]

Ignacio Blake was forced to stand down from his post as head of Naval Command in 2772, due to ill health, and was replaced by Admiral Janos Grec.[3]
