Jacali Nostra (b.3089 d. 3142)[1] was Khan of Clan Nova Cat from 3120 until her death.

History

The Second Ghost Bear/Combine War impacted heavily upon Clan Nova Cat and also on the young impressionable Jacali. At the age of 10 her sibko was forced to flee from Black Dragon extermination squads on Teniente. This instilled in her a deep desire to free her Clan from the Draconis Combine. Jacali won her Bloodname in 3114, and afterwards joined the Kesari movement, were she soon took a leading role. Support from this group allowed her to easily win election to Khan in 3120.[1]

Her major achievement was to rebuild the Nova Cat Touman, but this took years of negotiations with the Combine to gain permission. Even then the forces was still not as large as it had been in the previous century. This act gave her a huge swell of support and approval from her Clan. [1]

In the early 3130s, Nostra supported Katana Tormark as part of her plans to remove Combine dominion. Jacali thought the Kurita family weak and she supplied the Dragon’s Fury leader war materials even before the fall of the HPG network, laying the ground work for usurpation. She agreed to attach a Galaxy of Clan Warriors to Katana Tormark's forces in Republic space, in order to take the rest of the Dieron Military District. In return, Tormark passed an undisclosed agreement on to Khan Jacali, which seemed to both shock her and fill her with hope upon reading it. [2]

She had been promised an independent Irece Prefecture should a rebellion be a success. The Nova Cat erupted in open revolt in 3141 supporting Emi Kurita against the “puppet” Coordinator. Khan Nostra had seriously underestimated the strength her opponents, and their revolt was crushed. She fell in the final defence of Irece, and never lived to see her Clan’s ultimate fate.[2]

Notes

Her voice is permanently damaged, a result from the various Trials necessary to achieve her position.
