As one of the highest and rarest awards granted in the Federated Suns, the Medal Excalibur has a small and notable number of recipients over the centuries.

First, Second, and Third Succession Wars

From the collapse of the Star League until the conclusion of the Third Succession War the Medal Excalibur was only awarded 30 times, including these known recipients:[1]

Fourth Succession War

During the Fourth Succession War, the Medal Excalibur was awarded only twice, to these recipients:[7]

Clan Invasion

No Medals Excalibur were awarded for the Clan Invasion, the total recipients remaining at 32.[7]

Civil War

Throughout the FedCom Civil War the Medal Excalibur was awarded three time, with no known recipients. These brought the total recipients to 35.[10]

Jihad and Dark Age

It is unknown how many Medals Excalibur were awarded after 3067, and there is only one known recipient during this time:

Notes

  • In 3027 Hanse Davion pledged to award the Medal Excalibur posthumously to ever member of the Kell Hounds who perished in the Silver Eagle Incident once the story could be told. Based on the medal counts over the years, that appears to not have happened.[14]
  • Stephen Hollins was a candidate for the Medal Excalibur posthumous, but it is unknown if he was ultimately awarded it/[15]
